Octave

Muito Bom!!!

Very pro!

I like the app very much, it is a real pro app with easy to use functions and interface. It would be 5 stars if I could play iPod music from the device. Please add this function. And if you can make the full screen mode where you can hide the db numbers and have only bars.

Cool

Why i always see a peak in the low mid??

Stop working after a few weeks

This app was useful when it works after purchasing it. Then it froze and never worked again. Tried to contact the developer without success. Do not buy this until it is fixed. It also does not work at 1/3rd octave, and it does not hold the setting from previous sampling. DO NOT PURCHASE! It sometimes work and freezes again.

Nice little app but needs a few things added

Nice app needs to be able to keep settings from last use and can some times lag (iPod 4). I use it all the time great for finding a buggy frequency thats some times hard to pin point. Would be really nice if you could zoom in on a section of the graph.

Awesome octave graphs, but needs a few additional features

In the office, I have a $10K B&K graphical sound meter. "Octave" makes better graphs and is easier to use, and have a very quick reaction time! Very impressive! Octave is useful for singling out problematic frequencies (when trying to diagnose is a noise problem is airflow, or due to a fan, or a belt, or a motor). The vertical zoom and vertical centering are awesome. ...But its missing some important features. Unfortunately, it cant be used for documenting overall noise levels-- itll only give you noise levels for a particular octave band (or fraction of that octave band), and you cant take snapshots of individual charts. Here are some needed features: -Information display needs to give the overall sound level. -Needs to ndicate if the displayed sound level is A-weighted, Z-weighted, or unweighted. -Needs to let you choose the weighting, as well as specific time-weighted rate, such as LAeq. -Needs to let you calibrate the overall levels against a professional sound level meter. This app would be worth five stars if it had the needed items above! Features that would be "nice to have": -Enable you to take snapshots, preferably an image plus CSV file showing the levels of each octave-band. -Let you enter names or sequence numbers for the image/text snapshots. -Let you record an audio comment to go along with the snapshot. -Let you remove the "Peak Note" information if you dont need it. -Let you record a noise chart for several seconds, dumping the data to a CSV file, and averaging the overall and octave sound levels. Im looking forward to the next version update!

Beautiful

This app is Beautiful on the iPhone and Gorgeous on the iPad. Aside from the look, its very functional. I use while teaching Music Theory to emphasize a point and I can do it in real time! I dont have to carry around another device or hook up my Mac to show what I need to show. I havent used it much for pro-audio uses but as other reviewers have tested - it looks pretty good. Some very minor UI glitches but the developer is active and responds quickly to any support questions and development of features. The combination of a good app and a great developer makes this rare.

Great app, great price!

Ive used octave for a few gigs now and it is a great tool to have in my toolbox. Its pretty basic but for finding problem frequencies it works admirably. I would love to be able to calibrate for internal mic response but for the price this app is a steal compared to other RTAs.

Overall really good app

Works great. Just wish next update allowed for control of dB scale and the graph would not slow down when selecting a frequency band.

Octave

Simply the Best.

Good app. M

Good app. Great for finding resonant frequencies and evaluating sound levels. Would be nice if it could be calibrated especially on low ends. Low end is always low. I am also curious about response on ends if I actually had a decent mic but still great app. Also entire spectrum rises when music played. Would prefer if zero level remained flatter.

RTA

This is the best app. Ive found to help tune my PA. The builder is quick to respond to issues. Cannot be beat for the price.

Great App!

As far as RTA apps for the iPhone go, this one seems to be about the best. And you cant beat the price. I use it all the time.

Great App!

I wonder whether its accurate. What it says sometimes differs from the notes my ios instruments have played, usually 1 Key lower. It could be better if the noises are automatically ignored.

Great tool for live sound

The Octave RTA is a fantastic app for anyone that needs to check for troublesome frequencies in the stage monitors, or to define hotspots in the EQ of the mains for quicker more accurate adjustment. You wont find a better value for a tool like this.

Valuable little app

Not perfect but very nice

Very handy

Excellent App ! Way easier than lugging an audio spectrum analyzer. Only suggestion would be for calibrated external mic use, such as the MicW i436, and calibration routines against noise sources. Considering the price, a nit.

Cool app

I havent compared it to my rack mount unit, but for spot checks on stage for feedback through monitors it gets the job done. Basic and straight forward, nice tool for live sound.

Musician

Works really well! Very fast and very accurate. Well done!

Great!

I love Octave. Im a weekend audio engineer, and this is just what Ive been looking for. Works great, but needs a calibrate function.
